BODEGAS CARO
Argentina, Mendoza
Founded in 1999 as a partnership between Catena Zapata and Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), Bodegas CARO represents a blend of Argentine intensity and Bordeaux elegance. The name "CARO" itself combines CA from Catena and RO from Rothschild, reflecting the shared ambition to create wines that unite the high-altitude character of Mendoza with the structure and refinement of classic Bordeaux.
Located in a beautifully restored 19th-century cellar in Mendoza, the CARO winery sources its grapes from prime sites in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. These high-altitude vineyards are characterized by intense sunlight, cool nights, and stony Andean soils—conditions that yield aromatic, concentrated, and balanced grapes. Exceptional terroir, combined with precise vineyard management, forms the foundation of the estate's philosophy.
Across its entire portfolio, Bodegas CARO crafts wines that merge Argentine richness with French sophistication. Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon take center stage, shaped by careful fermentation and aging in French oak barrels crafted in Rothschild's own cooperage. The resulting wines are structured yet supple, featuring depth and freshness in a style that brings together the best of both worlds.

Rogami, Crna Gora
Our journey began as a labor of love. Ljubiša, our founder, started producing small amounts of wine as a hobby, sharing his creations with friends and family. In the early 2000s, he planted a small vineyard with two thousand Vranac vines on the outskirts of Podgorica, just a creek away from the ancient Roman ruins of Doclea (Duklja). The vineyard quickly became more than a place to grow grapes—it was a gathering space where loved ones came together to help with the first harvests, share stories, and celebrate the fruits of their labor.
As Ljubiša’s passion for winemaking grew, so did the vineyard. By 2009, we took the bold step of sharing our wine with the world, launching our first commercial vintage. We named it Arhonto, paying tribute to the historical significance of our land.
