Our journey began as a labor of love. Ljubiša, our founder, started producing small amounts of wine as a hobby, sharing his creations with friends and family. In the early 2000s, he planted a small vineyard with two thousand Vranac vines on the outskirts of Podgorica, just a creek away from the ancient Roman ruins of Doclea (Duklja). The vineyard quickly became more than a place to grow grapes—it was a gathering space where loved ones came together to help with the first harvests, share stories, and celebrate the fruits of their labor.
As Ljubiša’s passion for winemaking grew, so did the vineyard. By 2009, we took the bold step of sharing our wine with the world, launching our first commercial vintage. We named it Arhonto, paying tribute to the historical significance of our land.
